Delighted to have won the colour correction competition during my third year of professional Senior Stylist training whilst completing my VTCT SVQ Level 3 in Hairdressing at Edinburgh College.
The Challenge
For this competition, each student was given a dolls head which consisted of multiple hair colours. This then had to be colour tested and coloured to create an even and acceptable colour throughout the full head of hair. Different hair colours react differently to the same dyes, so this was a great test of my skills to achieve that even coloured look.
In addition, a cut and style were needed. Afterall, what use is great coloured hair if you don’t have the strong foundation of a fantastic hair cut?
The result
Both myself and my lecturers were pleased with the result. As you can see, I think the colour and cut worked out really well.
In fact, I was singled out as the overall competition winner for the result of my Colour Correction and took home the first prize of a new set of hair straighteners!
IT’S SO DIFFERENT WHEN YOU CHANGE YOUR HAIR COLOUR, YOU’RE TREATED SO DIFFERENTLY. IT’S A VERY FUNNY EXPERIENCE. IT’S FUN, I LOVE CHANGING MY HAIR COLOUR.
